Dr Antonio Cerasa

Senior researcher

  • Head of Unit at National Research Council (IRIB-CNR) in Cosenza. He is also a part-time lecturer of “Psychophysiology” and “Translational Neuroscience” at University Magna Graecia of Catanzaro and scientific writer for several popular magazines and editors. Some of his books have also been translated into other countries, such as China.
    Antonio Cerasa is a cognitive and translational neuroscientist, interested in applying basic neuroscience research into clinical applications and behavioral therapies for the treatment of neurological and psychiatric disorders.
    His expertise is characterized by a broad background in neurobiology and neurophysiology of neurological and psychiatric disorders, with specific training in neuropsychology.
    As PI or co-Investigator on some Italian and European-funded grants, he laid the groundwork for the development of several advanced neuroimaging measures of neurological disorders.
    He is an author and co-author of more than 150 publications index in MedLine [Total IF almost 600; H-Index: 43] and he’s received several International awards (from OHBM and ECTRIMS) and a national prize for science dissemination (http://www.premiodivulgazionescientifica.it/?p=4343).
