Biologist with postgraduate education in bioinformatics applied to personalized medicine. I completed a three-month internship in the Structural Genomics Unit of the Bioinformatics and Genomics Department at the Principe Felipe Research Center in Valencia, Spain.

I have nearly five years of experience in toxicogenomics at the European Drug Safety & Metabolism Center in Catania, where I worked in a public–private laboratory established through a partnership between IBB-CNR and an international pharmaceutical company. Following this period, during which I held a series of temporary contracts, I joined the Functional Genomics laboratories at ISN-CNR in Catania with a fellowship as a Bioinformatics researcher. I later worked on a temporary basis as a Technologist in the Next-Generation Sequencing laboratory at the ISN-CNR site in Cosenza.

Since 2018, I have held a permanent position as a Technologist in the Functional Genomics facilities of our research institute in Catania, with a four-year leave of absence to support my husband’s assignment in the Netherlands during the COVID-19 pandemic.

I have been a member of the Italian National Order of Biologists (ONB) since 2007, and of the International Biometric Society (IBS) – Italian Region – since 2019.

My expertise includes high-throughput genomic technologies and related data analysis.
